Partner, Managing Member, ShareholderNed joined Matter in 2021. He sees himself as a thought partner, coach, and facilitator for Matter families at every stage of their wealth journey and is dedicated to helping families navigate the complexities and responsibilities of wealth over multiple generations. Ned brings exceptional breadth of experience to the firm, blending entrepreneurship and a passion for enhancing people’s lives with financial acumen, most recently from his work as a managing director of investments at Ascent Private Capital Management, a division of U.S. Bank.
Ned was particularly drawn to Matter’s culture of collaboration and our focus on supporting multigenerational families. He believes transparent, intentional communication around wealth and legacy is the secret to family success, and his outlook and priorities align with our commitment to lifelong learning and knowledge sharing. Ned strives to bring empathy, humility, respect, and good humor to everything he does at Matter—and particularly to his work with Matter families.
Ned graduated from Trinity College with a BA in economics and received an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is also a CFA charter holder and serves as chair of the beneficiary relations committee for a private family trust company. Ned is deeply involved in numerous financial industry organizations and has served on many nonprofit boards, including the Collaboration for Family Flourishing, the Blue Bear School of Music, and the Denver Zoo.
In his free time, Ned loves being with his wife and three children, hiking and skiing in the mountains or walking the dogs around their Denver neighborhood. He also enjoys a good rally on the tennis court and is always on the lookout for an opportunity to improve his mediocre golf game. If he has a moment to himself, Ned likes to find a quiet place and lose himself in a good book.
