Karissa Black
Project ManagerKarissa has had a multifaceted career at Matter. She initially joined our team in 2020, serving as an analyst and then a financial consultant, with a particular penchant for helping multigenerational families navigate complex wealth challenges. After three years in client service roles, she was ready to pivot to an internal position at Matter and is thrilled to support our firm through project management, organizational strategy, marketing, and communications.
Karissa leverages her BS in business administration with a minor in international business and BS in accounting to keep projects on track and support organizational development and change management at Matter. Her experience working directly with families makes her a valuable contributor to our family education offerings, as well, and she enjoys supporting that workstream through intentional communication and content creation.
When she needs to recharge, Karissa heads outdoors. She loves hiking, backpacking, and fly fishing in Colorado’s gorgeous backcountry and also plays pickleball with family and friends. To relax, Karissa reads (usually classic novels or sci-fi thrillers), tries new recipes (with a focus on her favorite: Mexican cuisine), and takes walks with her husband and their dog, Frodo.
