Erin McCloskey, CFP®, MBA
DirectorErin joined Matter’s Denver office in 2020, bringing a career-worth of experience in financial service and planning. Most recently, Erin was a senior wealth manager at a Denver-area RIA and a portfolio manager at First Western Trust. Her deep knowledge of finance and passion for helping people led her to Matter, where she enjoys working with families to realize their goals through our tactical and values-based approach.
Erin graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in financial management. A lifelong learner, she has continued her education with an MBA from Regis University in Denver, earning the CFP® designation in 2017, and adding a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® designation in 2020.
Erin’s passion for helping others extends beyond the workplace. She currently serves as co-chair of the young leadership committee for the Rocky Mountain Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), a nonprofit that hits close to home, as Erin has lived with Type 1 diabetes for more than 25 years. She mentors young, newly diagnosed diabetics to show them what’s possible and helps with fundraising efforts for JDRF’s invaluable research. She is also the co-chair of the empowerment council of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado and serves on the organization’s development committee.
Food is Erin’s love language. She is a cooking and baking enthusiast and hosts monthly dinner parties where she makes a meal she’s never cooked before and invites people over to build community and make connections—another passion of hers. She also loves running (Erin has completed 16 half marathons, and counting) and traveling, especially when she can combine the two and “travel run,” which includes exploring a new city, meeting new people, and running a half marathon.
