J.P. Mahoney

JP joined Matter in 2023 after a stint on the client advisory team at Crestone Capital. A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business, with a BSBA in finance and business analytics, he brings skills in investment management and financial optimization to Matter.

JP was drawn to our firm’s team structure and commitment to developing personal connections with each family member we serve. He is passionate about helping families leverage wealth to meet their generational goals, build legacies, and fulfill their lifestyle aspirations, and he enjoys using his expertise to eliminate the stressors associated with wealth so families can enjoy the opportunities.

JP has a strong sense of curiosity and loves to learn. He enjoys helping younger generations develop financial literacy and strives to set them up for success by supporting healthy habits around spending, saving, and goal setting.

Originally from Southern California, JP loves being active outside – whether that is at the beach or in the mountains – to relax and recharge. In Colorado, he enjoys snowboarding and hiking with friends on weekends and squeezes in time for golf and pickleball whenever he has a chance. An avid sports fan, JP enjoys watching matches of all kinds and cheering for his home team, the CU Buffs.
